Sheldon Preston

PERSONAL:

Sheldon Preston is a member of the Navajo Nation. He is the grandson of the late Navajo Code Talker Jimmie Preston and great-grandson of the late Former Navajo Tribal Vice Chairman Scott Preston. Sheldon grew up in Tuba City, Arizona on the Navajo reservation.

While studying Architecture at Arizona State University, he co-founded 4X, a campus organization of Native American Architecture and Design students. Sheldon completed his architectural internship with the Architecture Research Office [ARO] in New York City.

After graduation, Sheldon moved to California to become an "Imagineer" for Walt Disney Imagineering. He worked on designing the Disney Theme Parks and Ride Attractions with projects in Florida, Paris, and Tokyo.

Sheldon is also a talented photographer with an amazing and unique vision. He has been published in various books and magazines. As well as various photo exhibits including a show in South France and the Denver International Airport.

Today Sheldon lives in the Los Angeles area and works with a group of designers and former Disney Imagineers at Andrade Studio Architects in Pasadena, California. He is attracted to and driven by a personal search of highly energized design and concepts. Ironically he is of the Towering House People Clan among the Navajo People.
